The basics
Does Setronome need an account?
No. Your song archive lives on the device and the app runs without any sign-up.
What does Setronome cost?
19.99 euro, once. There are no ads and no analytics components.
Does Setronome work without internet?
Yes. The click, setlists, guide tracks and the setlist scan all run entirely on the device. Only the song directory has to be downloaded once, and searching it works offline after that.
Click and guide track
What is the difference between a click track, a guide track and a backing track?
A click track is the track with nothing but the click on it. A guide track is that same click plus everything else the band needs to hear: the count-in, the names of the sections, tempo and time signature changes. A backing track is music, which is something else entirely. Setronome makes the first two, not the third.
Can I change the time signature in the middle of a song?
Yes. Bar by bar in the guide track editor, and inside a medley every part gets its own. 3/4 through 7/4, plus 6/8, 5/8 and 7/8 in their usual grouping.
Can I export the click as a file?
Yes, as WAV at 48 kHz with 24 bit or 44.1 kHz with 16 bit. The track is calculated rather than recorded, and after ten minutes it sits 0.17 samples off the grid.
Devices
Does a Bluetooth footswitch work?
Yes, ordinary pedals that identify as a keyboard, for start, stop, next song and back. Key assignment is yours to choose, and a key test shows what actually arrives.
Is Bluetooth good enough for the stage?
Not for the click. Depending on the device you are looking at 100 to 200 milliseconds of delay; our headphones measured 176. So for the stage use a cable or an interface. For the footswitch the delay does not matter, it only switches.
Why is the guide track editor iPad only?
Because it is edited bar by bar, and that needs room. Finished guide tracks play on iPhone just the same, and everything else is there too: setlists, medleys, cues, footswitch and show mode in landscape.

- iOS 15 or newer, on iPhone and iPad.
- Languages
- German and English. Any other device language gets English.
- Your data
- Stays on the device. What that means in detail is in the privacy policy.
- Backup
- “Settings → Backup” writes one file with everything in it. A single setlist can also travel on its own, as a .setronome file or as a PDF.
